The Best Grab-and-Go Protein Snacks for Busy Days

Snack and meal planning seems totally doable … until you’re busy. Or sick. Or just not feeling it. But just because you need a quick hit of protein doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality, taste or good ingredients. Here are a few portable snacks for those days where you just don’t have time.

Iconic Protein Coconut Matcha

Protein Drinks

What’s easier than blending up a shake in your Vitamix? Grabbing something off the shelf (or ordering on Amazon Prime), that’s what. We’re loving ICONIC Protein’s line of shakes, which are super-low in sugar, super-high in protein and made with clean ingredients. Check out the Truffle Chocolate or the surprisingly delicious Cacao + Greens, which each have 20 grams of protein.

Country Archer Jerky

Jerky

What’s better than meat? Meat you can take anywhere with you, whether that “anywhere” is the Seven Summits of the world, the hiking trail … or just the gym. Eleven grams of protein per serving gives you just the right amount of pick-me-up no matter where your day takes you. And the flavor? Well, you know the drill. Our favorite jerky? That’s like choosing the child you love most. And we love them all

RX Nut Butter

Nut Butter

Know those little packs of deliciousness you can find on the grocery store PB aisle that cost way too much? We think they’re worth it … especially if you’re walking around the store hangry. Go for any of the RX nut butters, which have around 9 grams of protein. Feel free to pair them with a fruit … or just suck them straight outta the packet.

Good Culture

Cottage Cheese

Yeah, we could add Greek yogurt to this list (it’s a great source of high protein, too). But we also love cottage cheese because it’s super easy, creamy … and has a more interesting texture. Good Culture’s 2% Milkfat Cottage Classic Cheese has a whopping 16 to 19 grams in it. Sprinkle in some nuts, drizzle with honey, or dip pre-sliced veggies in it.

Applegate Turkey

Turkey or Chicken Roll-Ups

Rolled is the way we roll. Roll up some cheese, maybe a veggie and plenty of packaged turkey or chicken for a breadless sandwich snack. (Psst, Applegate’s Natural Oven Roasted Turkey Breast has 11 grams of protein per two slices.) For the lowdown on why antibiotic-free turkey is so good, check out our post here

 Dang Bar

Protein Bars

What’s even easier than a protein drink? A healthy, on-the-go snack like a protein bar. Throw it in your bag, no refrigeration required. Pick a flavor and brand you like, and stock up for busy days. We’re currently loving Dang Bars, like their Chocolate Sea Salt bar with 10 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar.

There’s a lot to love about high-protein snacks that you don’t have to make yourself. Let us know some of your fave healthy, on-the-go snacks and indulgences.
